Imperturbable Bliss
What is happiness?
It’s hard to say exactly.
It probably looks different for everyone.
And, every American is constitutionally entitled to its pursuit.
I am worried, however, that we might have an artificial ceiling
widely believe in, that is limiting our vision of just how happy we can really be.
Stated more boldly:
The standard view of success is not ambitious enough.
We are setting the bar for our happiness too low.
The American Dream is settling for less than we deserve.
The Standard View, of The American Dream, is limiting us.
Freedom and Success are fearsome and worthwhile values, but they need not stand alone at the top of our cultural vision of The Good Life.
I hail Freedom and Success, but I urge myself and you to envision what lies beyond even them.
What true happiness means to us is a question for each person to answer on their own.
I simply urging us in this article, not to have a shallow vision of what is most important -
our lives.
Let us recognize our true potential
To Flourish.
I believe the pinnacle of mental health is
Well beyond The American Dream.
So much further out there, that we are putting our heads in the sand.
As if we are afraid of our own God*-given potential.
I have met people who live in a mental landscape that is beyond most of our imagination.
They are well established in contentment.
Their peace of mind is not easily stolen.
They have mental immunity (Dalai Lama XIV, The Book of Joy: Lasting Happiness in a Changing World).
Their flavor of happiness is both profound and well-established.
This is not some fairy tell,
Born by marketers,
To create a trap for fools.
Many have developed lasting peace and happiness.
Many have tasted the fruit of The Kingdom.
I believe, it is our birthright to do so.
And there's more good news, we don't have to go far.
The nature of our mind is peace, contentment, love and Bliss.
I wholeheartedly wager that our true potential
is nothing short
Of Imperturbable Bliss.
If you dare to dream of how great your life can be,
Make sure you are not chasing a vision that is beneath you.
Claim your Bliss -
And remember who you really are.
